Panzanella...

I made Panzanella for dinner tonight. I'm almost 90% certain that in the videos I've made I have both said the wrong name and even listed it wrongly as Panzella. At no point should anybody be surprised that I've messed something up.

Moving on though, lol. This was interesting because it's in the salad section of the cookbook but there is very little "salad". It's basically a crouton salad. Yep, you read that right...a crouton salad. It's a loaf of Italian bread that's been made into crouton's a few tomatoes, a cucumber and some dressing. Oh, and basil. Can't forget the basil because there really was a lot of it. The recipe called for, very specifically, 25 leaves of basil. I buy the little packs of fresh herbs so I just used the entire pack. The recipe also calls for 6 tomatoes. For the second time now, I've had a recipe that calls for tomatoes and I just...forgot to get the tomatoes. I'm really not sure what that's about, I like tomatoes?? Luckily, I happened to have 3 tomatoes in the fridge that needed to get used anyway so I just used those and cut them a little smaller than what the recipe called for.

I thought it was pretty good. Of course, I also love bread and went into this not seeing anything that could be wrong. The old man still hasn't gotten to try it yet. He was at work when I made it, that's how it's becoming dinner tonight.

I had mine with an Old Fashioned that I made for "Whiskey Wednesday". Yes I made Whiskey Wednesday on a Tuesday. This whole "content creating", is a lot more involved than I would have thought it was. So I tried to get ahead of the game a bit and make my drink last night. Of course all my efforts were in vain when I spent four hours trying to do my own nails. Might have been worth it if they would have worked out but they resulted in me having no nails by the time all was said and done. I'm pretty sure I need to give up on that being a home project and go back to see my girl. She's so much better at it then I am anyway.

Anyways, the salad and an old fashioned were a pretty good pairing. So even if you don't want the old fashioned, I still recommend the crouton salad as it has come to be known in my house!

My nails before they met their tragic end
