Dinner tonight was Pawhuska Cheesesteak. First of all....good luck remembering the name when you try to tell anybody what's for dinner. Second of all....highly recommend making it anyway.
I once again went into this a little concerned. I'm apparently more picky in theory than I thought I was. The meat for this is going to be two pounds of good quality, thin cut, deli roast beef. Regardless of how good the quality is, I was still concerned that the beef was going to have a weird texture. It didn't and in fact, it wasn't fatty, wasn't chewy, was just delicious.
One thing I did differently, instead of putting butter in the skillet and then toasting the buns, I instead melted the butter to brush on the cut side of the bread. When I melted it, I added garlic powder. I just thought with all of the flavors, it would add a nice touch. I wasn't wrong. I recommend it.
Of course I had to screw something up, I forgot that I have two large cast iron skillets and the one I used for the beef was considerably small fr the job. This didn't seem to have any effect, just caused it to take a little longer. Otherwise this was fairly quick to make and would be a good meal for a busy weeknight.
Started a new addition on TikTok to the program...Whiskey Wednesday! I'm going to make a whiskey cocktail each week so be sure to comment any that you would like me to try.
I am still filming the videos for TikTok, Facebook and Instagram. I made a change though, I have a camera on me and a camera on the preparation. So I'm working on figuring out how to edit that. So I am currently two days behind on the videos but hopefully, I'll get caught up and be back on track soon.
